Research Foundation: Contribution Planning Tips

You can leave a legacy to the ILSI Research Foundation by carefully planning your will. A bequest from your estate will support the mission of the Research Foundation for generations to come. An additional benefit is that such a gift to the Research Foundation is considered a charitable contribution and may help the donor to reduce the taxes on your estate.

Here are some planning tips:

Bequests can either be specific or residual. That is, you can leave the ILSI Research Foundation a percentage of your assets, a specific dollar amount, or a percentage of your assets after your family is taken care of, called a residual bequest.

The suggested legal language for a specific bequest is:
I leave (dollar amount or percentage amount) to the ILSI Research Foundation, One Thomas Circle, Suite 900,  Washington DC, 20005,  to be used for general purposes.

For residual bequests (the portion of the estate left after all specific bequests have been honored):
I give to the ILSI Research Foundation, One Thomas Circle, Suite 900, Washington, DC 20005 (all or ___ percent) of the rest, residue and remainder of my estate to be used for general purposes.

If you wish your bequest to be used for a particular program or purpose, please include that in your will.

The ILSI Research Foundation encourages you to consult with your lawyer or investment advisor when considering a planned gift.
